How Does Orange Light Reduce Bug Presence?

Many insects are attracted to light through a behavior known as positive phototaxis. However, insects typically detect light within a wavelength range of 300–600 nm, while humans see light between 380–740 nm.

The orange LEDs in this kit emit light at approximately 610 nm, placing them outside the visible spectrum for most insects while remaining clearly visible to humans. As a result, fewer bugs are attracted to the light.
